Erm it's in two halves:

just unscrew the cylinder from the top piece...

It's possible to unscrew the lower half and snake it out with out detaching the upper half from the strut tower rod (I just did it last night). Keep in mind that to unscrew you twist counterclockwise as viewed from above.

Bms Occ Mod

Why not just run the hose to the OCC (to capture oil) then install a small air filter to the intave side so that it only breaths fresh air and thus eliminate the intake build-up. For the exit out of the BMS OCC just run a breather tube or hose with another non restrictive filter (very small) just to allow air to exit the occ and nothing back in. Would this work?

I ran a breather on mine for a while...there is a lot of blow by in this car and the breather filled up with oil enough that it started spewing a fine oily mist on the back side of the engine bay. I did this without a OCC though in between. I think this OCC works well enough that there is not a need to do such a setup (plus you will get some extra fumes into the ventilation system from the breather). There are also those who make the argument that some vacuum on the crank case ventilation system is a benefit, though no real numbers to back that up on this platform.
