I think they are both quoted at 5.5s for the spring to 100kph / 62mph.

435i gran coupe faster at 5.2s

And how would the GC be rated any faster than the 335i?

The November Car & Driver had a test of an automatic 4matic C400. It did 0-60 mph in 4.7s, and the 1/4 mile in 13.3 @ 107. Those numbers are virtually identical to a 335i.

My bad, misread the C400 time. It is indeed 5.2s as an official figure.

Official figures, don't ask me; ask BMW.

The GC is slower than the 3 due to its weight disadvantage

I think this is one of those situations where they're close enough in testing that driver experience probably plays a factor too. I imagine in real-world driving, you wouldn't be able to tell a difference.

Haven't driven the C400 though, so I can't say for sure...

I think this is one of those situations where anyone older than 21 shouldn't really care...

0-60 is overrated.

I care about 30-70, for when getting on the highway!

Yea.. Why is everyone worried about this. This sounds like: a Mustang v Camaro thread.

I agree, so we will just leave it at Mustang and be done with it!

To add to this, I don't think many C class drivers care about 0-60.

I saw a new C400 (parked) last night, looked really good. This surprised me as I was in London recently saw many new Cs on the road and wasn't that impressed...

Is this a car which really needs the rights spec/wheels etc to look good?

I've driven the C400. I wasn't really impressed with anything about the car. For what it is it wasn't horrible but the design was too busy and overly done. I hated the gauge pods for an instrument cluster. The interior was the biggest letdown with the cheapest materials beingused.
