How do you see the numbers on the iDrive?

I'll do it for ya, in the AM.

It's in settings - vehicle status - select the service and you should have intervals for oil, pads and other fluids

8700 miles

Front- 23,000 miles left
Rear - 21,000 miles left

I find the rears having less left a bit odd.

Also, is there a way to see % left?

Just wondering.

Does your traction control or stability control get activated often? I'm thinking a lot of rear brake being kicked in to reduce wheel spin or slippage.
But it could just be a tiny brake puck on a powerful caliper.

Yes.

Great point!

I do a fair amount of spirited driving.

That'll do it.

The first set of brake pads lasted nearly 8,000 miles and the second set is nearly done at 15,000 miles. Oh, I did do about 10 track days this summer. And yes, I'm on my second set of MPSS tires. I love this car!

During the experience I had with my 128i the computer never read higher than 40k miles of pad wear remaining even when brand new. However my first front pad change was at 80k-83k miles can't remember exactly. The rear pads are still original from the factory with over 95k miles on the odometer. Even as I know my rear pads need changed very soon (2mm-3mm of pad before senor trips) the computer is still reading 23k miles.

Took my son's E93 335 in to independent when the brake pad light came on at 35,000. They checked all 4 pads and there was at least 10,000 miles worth of pads still on them. 6 months later the damn sensors have gone off again, not sure how good the sensors are so don't go by the sensor reading.

1,800 kms

rear 49,000 kms
front 50,000 kms.

TC, DSC and Cruise control (Downhill) will wear off rear pads much faster especially inner rear. Noticed on my 2011 335i.

All of the brake work was covered under the BMW new car standard maintenance coverage. My only costs are tires, gas and oil changes between their covered 10k changes.

Fronts toast at 2200 miles, rear might have another day or two left at the track.
