idk if I should sell my baby.
Hey guys this is not the forum but this is where the most car guys are at so I want to get your feed back. I love my n54 but it's a coupe. I'm going to be rolling with my child more because my wife is starting her masters at a place that is about 2 hours away from where we are located currently(I'm only 10 mind away from my job) to make it easier on her we are moving at. A midway point where she travels 1 hour as do I. Catch Is I'm going to be carrying my child with my everyday. (4 door necesity).
I have 3 options keep the car. Which I love. Putt miles on her like crazy now with the traveling. but enjoy every min of it unless turbos fail. Be uncomfortable with a coupe carrying a kid around. Buy a lex us is f 4 door. Super reliable. Give my car plus 13k. I'll waste approximately 2k more in gas a year. In runs similar to a tuned n54. Buy a St . Save on gas, my car plus xk. Warranty, buy brand new, fun little car. Drove my friends and I loved it! 4 door. Give to.my wife after she is done with the masters. What would some.of you guys do. Side note I took the car to the a dealership to see how much they quoted me for it . Saw the g up take off with it and heard it I was almost drooling I like my car that mu Last edited by Pr335bob; 10-14-2014 at 08:50 PM.. |

I think the fiesta ST is a decent idea, though I would get a used one and not take that initial depreciation hit.

everyone has their own opinion, but i prefer to not buy new.. you'll eat all the depreciation! you could buy an e90 335. i picked up both of mine on the cheap.
if its the reliability you are concerned about is f will not let you down. whatever you do put the fam first! |

The st is a great fun car man. It surprised me so well balanced. The focus tq steer I did not like. A car has to be fun for me. It's where you send a lot of time.
Yeah it's hard to find a used st. Right now. Last edited by Pr335bob; 10-14-2014 at 08:50 PM.. |

What's the big deal with having a kid and having a coupe? You have to fold down the front seat to get them out? I guess its kind of annoying to do it every time, but I wouldn't be getting rid of a car I love because of that. How long can that possibly take? An extra 5-10 seconds to fold down the seat?

It's annoying to bend into the car to get my child out . Doing that everyday would drive me nuts! And she is going to be sleeping so lol its not going be as easy. I'm going to be waking up at 4am to drop her off at my mom's house and make it to work. At 6am

you will bend no matter what, keep in mind, child grows up and eventually they do well with seat belts on their own. I should ask first how old is the little one anyway, some exercise never killed anyone yet selling your car and then regretting might be painful down the road unless changing cars was already on your mind.

2 years old. I was already planning on a cts v. Obviously after she was done and we are back home. cause I only travel ten minutes minutes to work.

honestly man, if you really like the car just enjoy the ride, the kid is not that small so just teach them how (or wait till the kid will figure it out lol). You would be amazing how fast they will pic this up, two of my kids were very happy doing their own seat belts , all I had to do is check

Baby on the way here and also have a coupe... Oh well, my mom had a two door when I was a little kid and she was fine. I say keep your car and deal with the slight inconveniences. IS F's are nice, though!

Your car is a beauty ! I can't afford a new e90. Idk if it's just me but I wouldn't buy a used n54 off a non BMW dealer. I bought mine with about 13k miles off a older lady. With all the tuning that goes on and the way I think cars should be taken care of, I doubt there's a lot of people who take care of their cars like I do. I wouldn't trust getting a 3-6 year old n54 or n55 from someone didn't know. Unless it had stupid low mileage. That's just me.
