Talking N20 228i Hexon Autowerks turbo upgrade... M235i killer!

Huge thanks to Wayne from Hexon Autowerks for working with me on making my 228i one of the fastest ones around!

Well I don't know if it'll be a 235i killer quite yet but... Just wanted to share my turbo upgrade that I'll be receiving later this week. Took a couple months but the wait is over! I can't wait to install this and pair it up with full bolts! We are expecting a 35-40% hp increase over the stock turbo. The internals have been beefed up and are now a lot larger compared to stock internals. I'll have exact specs of the internals later on this week. I will be running the JB4 stage 2 along with meth injection, e85, rolloface chargepipe, injen intake, evolution racewerks intercooler, Arqray catless downpipe and ARK performance exhaust.

Turbo upgrade specs:
OEM BMW N20 TURBO
COMPRESSOR: 56/42mm TURBINE: 47.3/41.2mm

HEXON BMW N20 TURBO
COMPRESSOR: 60/48.5mm TURBINE: 52/45.6mm

Here are some of the pics the guys from Hexon Racing sent me via email. I'll make sure to update this thread once I have the turbo in my hands.

Nice!!
That being said, i am interested to know the cost of turbos+installation + beefing up the engine internals versus just buying a M235

I'm definitely looking forward to hearing what numbers the turbo puts out. Stock n20 make such pathetically low numbers for a 4 cylinder turbo.

Turbo and catless DP are done!!! It sounds so awesome even under light throttle!! Power is definitely noticeable even without a tune.

Nice! Wonder how well it will do against a FBO 135/235.

I won't be able to do the JB4 tune and dyno until after SEMA. I should have some dyno numbers within the next 2 weeks.

If im doing the math right, the cost of this turbo upgrade along with other bolt-ons will run you close to the cost of a m235i....dont get me wrong, i know its not about that but if it was me I'll rather have a factory stock car

That is what everyone keeps telling me lol
At the time when I purchased my 2 series they weren't doing employee pricing on the 235i, only on the 228i. I've done tons of work to this car already and at this point I just want to be known as having the fastest 228i

A 228i with the M-sport package and track package comes to about 38k. Even if you were to include the lights and a sunroof (useless imo) your still about three grand short of a 235.

Just a JB4 and a few bolt ons (downpipe) brings you close to 235 numbers and that isn't even close to 3 grand. Quite honestly I have a feeling that Bmw purposely kept n20 power figures low to give people a reason to buy into the n55.

and same goes for a 235....just a jb4 and it will spank a n20 thats fbo.....all depends on what youre looking for and how much pwer you want....imo the N55 is a much more well rounded proven platform and worth the extra money

Truthfully I'm not arguing the numbers produced by the n55, but am I the only one who finds it peculiar that the n20 doesn't make 300hp from factory?

The car has been running great! I take it to the local drag strip every Thursday night and I've had my good share of wins! I'll be uploading more youtube videos this weekend

Feel free to check out my Instagram (e46m3lol), I post a lot of drag racing videos on there.
