I think in UK it is legal requirement to have them if you have xenon's, I might be wrong but haven't seen xenon's with no headlight washers! have seen it the other way round, halogens and headlight washers :|

In the US you only get headlight washers with the cold weather package.

I purposely avoided the cold weather package because of those damn washers, in my e92 I always had problems with those caps falling off.

Up here in Canada we don't get headlight washers with xenons either.

No washers and I don't need another ugly opening in my bumper. Besides I fail to see how a simple stream of water could clean anything if it's not following by some mechanical scrubbing.

Good point.

Would be nice if they could figure out a way to better hide the sensors or other options in the bumpers. A fully optioned BMW looks like it has chicken pox...

It's funny because prior to ordering, I read posts w/ people complaining about the overspray, but never gave it any thought. Now, the 1st day or 2 after washing the car, I find myself hesitant to use the windshield washer because I'm thinking about if the headlight washers are gonna get spray on the hood and I have to wipe it down again.

I have xenons and washers. I like the former but wished I didn't have the latter. But I think it's a regulatory requirement in my neck of the woods.

Bear in mind, with the Fxx chassis, the headlight washers will only be triggered if your lights are actually ON (if on AUTO, only when the green symbol is on in the cluster to indicate your headlights are on). So if it's during the day, and you are sure you didnt manually turn the lights on, you can use the windshield washers as much as you want, it will never trigger the headlight washers.

It was a different story with the e9x, where it always triggered after 10 windshield sprays, if I remember correctly.

It only cleans as soon as it is splashed with fresh mud or dirt.

Man, so many people seem to hate the headlight washers, who knew? 😄

You could use them to scare people, especially if you could point them away from the car. Lol. We have very rude windshield wiper people at stoplights here who just spray their nasty cleaning fluid on your windshield without permission, even when you are telling them "no". The modified xenon washers would could spray them first lol.

There was actually a mod I think for that. True story. But I would be concerned about retaliation unless you're about to take off...

In Paris we have a flock of Romanians doing the same, usually they draw a heart with their soap solution first to try to mellow you, then they clean for like 2 seconds while you're saying no, and then they badger you for money to compensate them for their hard work. When you drive away they give you the finger. So much for that little heart right?

Yep, when trying to wipe your windows, they will grab the wiper stalk and try to bend it forward thinking that is like other cars, and ending up scraping the paint/and our bending the wipers!

Here they can get outright belligerent. If you say no or don't have anything to give, they will curse at you, and pound on the side window hard, hit/dent or scrape your car!!

OH YES and that stupid windshield washer is a disaster waiting to happen. Actually it did happen to me and I have to put in some touch up paint there too. This is a really bad design.

No hate here, and I wish that Canadian cars came with them. I had them on my previous E90, but for some reason BMW Canada didn't think we need them anymore with the F30.

Yes they are good to clean off dirt and especially salt in the winter, but I find they are a necessity in winter weather as the xenon's don't generate much if any heat (meaning ice and snow build up on the headlights if you drive for any extended period of time in a snow storm).
