Cobb Install/Uninstall

Hey Guys,

I have a Cobb AP installed and its time for my first service visit since installing the AP. When I first installed my AP I didn't use a battery charger, and even though I have a 2013 I don't want to run into any problems so I went to auto zone to buy a battery charger. They only had a 50 AMP and a 1.25 AMP Charger and Cobb told me the 1.25 will not benefit me at all but the auto zone person told me that he doesn't recommend me using the 50 AMP because our batteries can only handle 25 amps?

Can anyone give me recommendations on what I should do to uninstall and then reinstall the AP. I feel like I am being over paranoid because the AP went into Recovery Mode a month ago when I was only switching maps.

I think you'll be fine with the 1.25 AMP charger. The BMW OEM battery charger is a re-branded "battery tender" and it's 1.25 AMP.

I think you're worried too much bro, unless you know your battery's dying...i'm sure you'll be alright. I've done a bunch of shit on my cob ap without a batter charger.

I've used the Cobb many times and never had any battery issues.

Honestly just don't do it if your car's been sitting around for a while un-driven and don't leave any interior or exterior lights on.

Battery tenders are mostly for that added protection. If you want one, go for it. It can only help.

If you have another vehicle maybe you could hook up jumper cables. Don't see why that wouldn't work...

I wouldn't worry about a battery tender as long as you're under warranty.
