DME upgrade option

Cobb I bought few months ago was collecting dust as I had one of those unsupported ROMs, and getting the DME upgraded was not going anywhere with the local dealers even after mentioning about the Service bulletin.

So just had my DME upgraded with a local garage that had the Autologic software, got the latest upgrade and cheaper than dealer. Took an hour to do the upgrade and it went smoothly. You can upgrade the all the vehicles modules and/or just the DME.
Cobb is flashed.
OTS maps are good but I think I need a custom tune, lol.

P.S. Not all Autologic vendors are same, I would go to someone who has done the upgrade before.

I'm not sure if I've heard about this DME update, can you provide some details or info on the service bulletin as to what it does/helps fix?

Sorry if this has been discussed at length before, I'm new to the wonders of BMW's turbo-I6 as I picked up my 335 towards the end of August.

I have that same version. The dealership updated it because I was having long cranks.

Bringing my car to the dealership Tuesday for vanos recall. Any suggestions for what I can tell them to get the DME upgraded under warranty? There is many times where the car cranks for much longer then usual before starting up.

That's all I told them. I said that the car had long cranks (which it did). They were able to recreate the problem also. If you car is having long cranks but it doesn't happen all the time, I recommend taking a video of it as proof.

I shall tell them, some times I'm almost frightened that the car isn't going to start from how it is cranking. Almost like the battery is drained to the max and has just barely enough power to start the car but I don't think the battery is the problem.

Just got the car back from BMW yesterday, I told them about the long cranks and they kept it a couple extra days to try to duplicate it on a cold start. Unfortunately they were not able to duplicate what I have experienced so they did not upgrade the DME for me.

I was able to get DME updates under warranty by mentioning the rpm dips at idle and poor throttle response, which is true. The updates haven't fixed it completely but at least I'm up to date. Same rom as the OP.
