Cobb or Jb4?

Hey guys Cobb supports my car and I can do Jb4 also, which one should I go with if I want to gain the most power and have the best overall tune? I know Cobb is more expensive but money is not an issue in this case. Also what's the difference between Cobb Accessport V3 and Accessport V2?

get both. If you ever want to upgrade your turbo you should have a cobb in order to do a backend flash anyways. There's not a ton of price difference between V2 and V3 but the V3 is much nicer.

jb4 is easier to live with on a daily basis since you can switch maps on the fly and do some other cool stuff and with the cobb it takes a while

Ok so I would get the V3 and yea Jb4 you can switch maps easy, but if I get a cobb tune I would never be switching anything or re-tuning unless I get a new mod? So Cobb would be a one time process of tuning, until I upgrade something else. If it's the perfect tune for my set up I wouldn't need to switch pre-sets or re-tune right? That kind of throws out the jb4's easy map switch

For bolt ons, yes, but if you want to run E85 every once in a while, you'll want to switch maps, which the jb4 does as quickly as your thumbs can move.

I am having this exact debate with myself right now, cobb seems more user friendly as it backend flash as opposed to having to rip the engine bay to get to the ecu to add the jb4. I was also under the impression that cobb left a ghost code that was detectable by the dealership, not sure if there is any truth to that though.

"rip the engine bay" might be a little excessive

it only takes 15 min to install and uninstall the jb4 once you've done it once.

another reason why the jb4 is a must for me personally is because i don't necessarily always want to drive around on the most aggressive map. But if I get the itch, it's just a couple buttons away on the jb4.

JB4 regardless...why only get it if you're not upgrading turbos? If anything it probably has even more potential with a turbo upgrade

This is one of the main reasons I want Cobb for the upcoming turbo kits.

"Anyone that has a Cobb flash-able DME can run this kit. For newer N55 DMEs we have an option but it is an expensive one and we will be exploring more as soon as time permits."

"We have talked to Terry and he's onboard with offering support with the JB4. You will have to have a way to flash the DME though. Certain 2012 DMEs are Cobb compatible and I recommend checking with them if yours is."

I completely agree that the Cobb should go along side of a turbo upgrade so that you have control over fueling. But I would personally still run the JB4 along with it. Together that should make for a pretty wicket setup

Oh I didn't know you could run both together hmm..so would you recommend I get Jb4 for now and Cobb once I upgrade my turbos? How easy is Jb4 to tune with and will I have to worry about like blowing my motor if the tune is bad lol

The JB4 is completely safe and unlike the Cobb, does not require custom maps. It comes completely "pre-tuned" and is ready to go for anything you throw at it, including a sweet meth integration (saw in another post that you're waiting on a meth kit).

Hmm maybe I will just get the Jb4 for now, would you recommend I use the auto tune feature(map5) or just choose a pre-tuned map? And Cobb doesn't work with meth?

Is it as safe as a cobb with OTS or even protune? I've been leaning towards cobb with a protune for reliability but everyone in this thread is saying jb4.

Yeah I thought Cobb is a real flash tune and overall better but everyone is saying Jb4 lol, I hope not just because it is easier to tune with. Why is Jb4 better then Cobb?

The jb4 is compatible on all of the n55 DMEs so it's by far the most popular n55 tuning option. It's also cheaper and can auto-tune right out of the box. It definitely has it's benefits but it also comes down to personal preference. Try to do as much research as you can because only you can decide which products are the best fit.
