Mud Flaps
Well, I just got the entire front and full rocker panels covered with Xpel Ultimate, the windows tinted, the M-Performance mats installed and now I'm ready for, get this - mud flaps.
I know, some would say that they're incongruous with the look and intent of the car. But I've always liked them and after seeing how easily the rear tires splash up and leave a disgusting smear on the beautiful mineral white finish in just a few miles of driving I've decided to install rear mud flaps. Problem is, BMW doesn't make them for this model, yet. Anyone else contemplating mud flaps? |

I see what you are saying but most likely BMW will not make mud flaps for your car....... They were never made for E9X models as well.

As far as bang for the buck, I'll get more utility out of a set of $100 mud flaps than I would from a so-called "performance" exhaust system that doesn't add significant power, yet can cost up to 10% of the original cost of the car.
And while I'm on the subject, can anyone please explain to me why some are so willing to pay so much for an accessory that doesn't actually improve the performance or the aesthetic of the car? I mean, you can't even see the accessory muffler after it's been installed. I want to understand. Really. |

You might want to add curb feelers to car too. That would complete the mud flap look

I'll start by saying that all of you who are poking fun at the original poster are adding zero value to this conversation.
Like the OP, I would also be interested in mud flaps for my F80 M3. Some may think it ruins the appearance of the car, but this is no garage queen. I drive it 365-days-a-year through Michigan winters. I also live on a dirt road, so mud is an unfortunate reality for me. If anyone discovers a source for this item, through BMW or the aftermarket, please share. |

Wow, I really don't understand why everybody is being an asshole to this guy. Mudflaps definitely are not and will not be my thing, but for some people, they are entirely useful. You know, unlike all of those stupidly expensive cosmetic parts you guys are adding on.

Look into rally armor mud flaps, I know Subarus use them but maybe you can find something that suits your needs. Of course you will have to modify them to fit but who knows, you might make it work. Good luck!!

I'm wondering if the front flap for a 3er MSport would work? BMW says the basic 3er flaps won't work on an MSport but lots have put them on and they fit no problem. The front ones are very subtle and I actually wouldn't mind them. Rears on the MSports aren't so pretty and would probably look worse on the M3/4. The alternative for front is a complete rocker panel wrap but that stuff still gets gouged up over time. I'm afraid an Xpel treatment for the rear is all that would work. Bottom line...flaps aren't pretty...they can be ugly actually...but they work. Good luck with your quest...I'll be watching to see how you made out.

I will not be looking into mud flaps for my M4...i just couldnt do that to it. I will clean it after every drive if thats what it takes.
On a side note i think most buy the expensive cosmetic parts because they look good and we need to feed our habit of spending money on crap we dont need...at least that is my reason. |

BMW may not sell them specifically for the M, but I bet a set of mud flaps that fit the 435i will likely fit the M. I could not find a pic of the 435 coupe, but figured I'd post the sedan to give you some idea.
Good luck OP. |

, No just kidding but I your idea. I think you should be able to make it work and find color matching, just comes down to if the mounts in the wheel wells are the same on the F8X vs the F3Xs. Please post some pictures if your able to make it work. I would be curious to see it. I would think even a piece at the bottom in black cut right, may not even really be noticeable.
