Advice on MP Front Spliter Install

I'm getting my M Performance Front Spoiler at the end of this week. I want to see if some of the forum members that have done the installation themselves can help me get prepare to do the installation. I was thinking like a DIY posed in the forum perhaps.

There's actually an installation instruction manual from BMW. I think you should ask your seller to provide it. I bought mine on ebay (Kelly BMW from Ohio) and those guys were so great to send me the instructions, which I just printed and hand them to the shop that did the installation.

It's super simple, just make sure to unscrew all of the screws that line up with the piece before you remove the tape. Note which screws are long and which are shorter, you may have to reuse one or two washers as well.
Next begin to peel all the double stick tape back about a centimeter then tape the tails to the front of the mpsplitter with painters tape, this will allow you to place it and peel the tape.

Wipe down the entire front splitters with the provided alcohol pads. Push the entire splitter on until it kinda clicks into place, you can be pretty firm in your application. Then starting with the tops and working out wards from the center, peel off your tapes trying to keep the angle as sharp as possible in the direction you are peeling (don't pull at 90 degrees or you risk snapping the tape). Do the large bottom corner panels last.

Finish by screwing everything in.

The only thing my friend who does body work said those might be used for is to black out the seam lines if you say had a WHITE body car and then kept the MP splitter black. They would line the "splitters" where they attatch to the front fender, and then the fender would be taped on top. It would black out the seam so you don't have a weird trim line from the cars color and the MP part.

I have an AW M235i and I'm planning on leaving the front splitter unpainted, just as it comes from the manufacturer. You suggest I should use the items in the picture then. Can you give me a little bit more details on how to use them, if your friend was kind enough to share that with you.

I did mine myself. took less than 10 mins. Abit of soapy water on the lower bumper will allow for the tape to slide without sticking instantly as you push it into place.

Left mine unpainted against the red
