Here are some pics- should I wash the oil off this thing or is it just a matter of removing any debris or crap that I find on the foam?

The other option is to leave my BMS intake in, but I'm just not convinced that the car is performing any better- other than making silly whooshing sounds like a Subie

Doesn't the silly whooshing sound cool?

Some days it does

Other days it just becomes an annoyance- especially when I'm just trying to get from point A to point B and every boi racer within a 1 mile radius thinks I'm trying to giddyup on them when I accelerate and let off the gas ha ha

It's all personal preference. Do you like the blow-off sound? Some people do not. Also some people don't like their exhaust to be louder than stock. I wouldn't worry much about what other people think because it's your car and your money.

Sometimes when I gas it and let off the throttle, I hear a pshh sound. Lol and I love the way it sounds so sick but I never hear it unless I do that. Hopefully with the intake it's louder. I guess I like the sound. I don't care about what others think though.

All great points gentlemen. I guess some days I like it, and some days I don't

I'm more concerned with IATs versus a stock airbox. I've been meaning to swap back just to check on my PIII gauge the difference but I've been too lazy to do so.

I wouldn't have put it on during the summer months for that reason, I think it will shine in the cooler months from here on out.

Garage List
Interested to see the difference in IATs as well. Let me know how it goes if you end up swapping it

From what I've read, a panel filter is the standard for these cars. The aftermarket DCI are OK but there is no additional power…I have even read it hurts it. Panel filter on stocker air box, here.

When the weather gets a bit nicer, I will try to do this for everyone. I have another thread that had IATs from my P3 gauge I believe, it was 120 degrees Fahrenheit on an 84% sunny NJ day with about 32% humidity.

I think it would be impossible to compare the two accurately. I would have to have the exact same day with the exact same driving time and temps I think
