Muffler Delete W/Straight Pipe vs Full Exhaust System

Hey guys I got a quick question. I currently have a muffler delete and I ordered an AR Catless 4" Downpipe, should be here in 2 weeks. Im wondering if maybe I should buy an exhaust system? Would I have more gains from it compared to straight pipes? Would it sound better or worse, not as loud. Any info would be nice. Thanks

I had straight pipe with VRSF downpipe. Shit was too loud for me and extremely raspy. Ended up putting on 2 mufflers to calm it down. The mufflers I used were generic and actually sound very DEEP. You're in LA, I am in OC and work in LA. So if you want to hear it sometime let me know.

Wow really...hmmm yeah maybe I might wanna hear it lol. I still have my stock mufflers somewhere but I think that would be too quiet. What do you mean by generic, like aftermarket? I want a deep sound, just not too loud, Glendale cops are ass holes.

Generic as in chinese ebay muffler. I had HKS HiPowers on my old car and loved them. But didn't want to spend 300$ a piece just to quiet down the 335 so I bought generic ones to try them out. Best 30$ a piece investment I've done so far! With catless downpipes, resonator delete and the added on generic mufflers, my exhaust note is very deep. Not too quiet and not too loud.

I would have put my stock mufflers back on if I still had them LOL.

Interesting...so I'd have to spend $60 if I wanted to have your set up. How do I delete my resonator?lol and do you think a catless downpipe alone is louder/deeper then a muffler delete alone? I'm just wondering. Next time your in La let me know I wanna hear how it sounds.

$60 + labor to weld it on if you don't know how to weld.

Resonator delete = Cutting off your resonators and welding in a straight pipe.

In my opinion the muffler delete wasn't even that loud, I mean it was kind of loud but it was also raspy at high rpms. Some people like the raspy, some people don't hear it as often cause they don't drive spirited.

yeah I had my resonators removed the same time. maybe that's why it was so raspy :P straight pipes in general will always be raspy. only way to get rid of it is with a resonator or muffler.

That's my video from my other post. I have a downpipe, no mufflers, two vibrant resonators instead, and the stock catback.

I just have a catless downpipe with stock exhaust and it sounds perfect in my opinion. Not too quiet and not too loud and a lot of nice burbling when letting off the throttle.

You're not gonna get much out of doing the exhaust as far as performance goes. 90% of it is the downpipe.

Ooo yeah and it's really expensive, so then I will just leave my muffler delete and just have the DP as well lol.

I wouldn't be surprised if you end up putting mufflers back on the car once the dp is in It makes a big difference.

Lol maybe..well good thing I still got my stock mufflers laying around somewhere. If it sounds too quiet with my stock mufflers then I might just get an exhaust.

Interesting video/thread lol. Idk if the shops here know how a Bmw PE looks like inside or how to make something similar. But that will be an option.
