Driver mode in busy traffic

Hi all, I am a little curious how you drive your F30 in busy traffic.

Do you keep it in sport mode or comfort mode?
I noticed the car becomes a little jerky in sport mode when I drive it through local street with tons of stop and go. The jerkiness is a result of downshifting as the car glides through street with low speed.

The jerkiness goes away when I put it in Comfort mode. I think the Comfort Mode keeps the car in 3rd/4th gear.
Problem is when I really want the power and torque, the comfort mode won't give it to me immediately.

So I wonder what do you guys do?

Depends on the speed. Crawling traffic is comfort mode, but if its moving traffic requiring a lot of lane changes then sport mode helps a lot in making a quick, slick movement when there's just the right amount of space to make a safe lane change.

Eco pro and listen to music
Eco pro, windows down listen to exhaust
Sport+ DS ON windows down listen to exhaust. I shift the gears myself with the paddle shifters

I would rank them as follows:

Sport+
Eco pro+exhaust
Eco pro+music

In busy traffic it's either sport plus with DS/Paddle shifters or eco pro. Just depends on how bad the traffic is.

True stop and go, I use sport plus. The slow, lazy 2mph bumper to bumper i use eco pro.

Sport Mode and shift myself. Oh wait...I have to shift myself.

Actually I agree that Sport in AT and heavy traffic can be twitchy. So the Comfort throttle seems best suited. I like the Sport throttle mapping better though.

Same here, but I'd add that I sometimes prefer Eco-Pro with the ACC on in stop & go traffic. Eco-Pro smooths out the Active Cruise's desire to keep the distance so perfect between my car and the vehicle in front. Otherwise I use ACC with Comfort.

I have been using ECO Pro a lot lately and the mileage per tank vs comfort has gone up for me. I never use sport mode.

I have noticed this too. So glad I sprung for the ACC as it just makes me so much more relaxed in the two hours I drive home through traffic.

Sport +DS for the burble, Eco pro in heavy traffic. Better save gas if you can't enjoy in sport mode.

Comfort + D until oil temp gets to 50C (122F)
Comfort + S when oil temp >50C (122F)

If I get the change to play a bit: Sport + S if oil temp is at least 75C (167F)

I almost never use Eco Pro. I really hate the way the car behaves in that mode :|

I exceed 35k miles a year; so these days any vehicle lacking active cruise control is out of consideration. Putting aside the comfort factor; ACC is a great safety feature for people like me who consider their car their office.

Even in comfort, there is plenty of torque if you need it, you just need to push the pedal a little harder
