Problem Installing SSTT
So i found the TMAP sensor, but here's where I am confused.
Am i supposed to follow where the other end of the part that i unclip goes or does the end i just unclipped gets plugged into the other end of the TT?

allright, i got that figured out BUT i still can't unclip the original end.
The guitar pick bends and slides all over my hand too much and its impossible to get it just under the clip. My fingernail is bleeding... All because i afraid to break the clip. Anyone have any advice. I'm seriously considering giving up.

yea just grab a penny slide it under the clip with your one hand, and tell someone else to pull the plug out, it really rather simple.
did u take a look at the DIY?

i did follow the DIY, how the hell can you get another arm in there?
when you slide the dime in there do you also try to pry up the clip or just sliding the coin under should lift it enough?

Slide the dime under the clip. Friction will keep it there.
It takes a little dexterity, but you can pull it apart with one hand. hold the wire harness in your hand, with the plug in your palm. With the pinky side of your hand holding the cable, push the other part of the cable w/ your index finger and thumb.

It can be a PITA the first time. Just relax and take your time. I don't recommend using your fingernail. Some folks are able to do it that way but I was like you, my nail would have torn off the nailbed before the clip came loose. You can't get 2 of your own arms in at the same time so you have to do it with one hand. You just need to get something pryed under the clip. I used a metal wall anchor thing but it seems like the guitar pick should work unless it is to soft. You can use a flat head screwdriver bit if you have one. Bottom line is just take your time and you will get it. GOOD LUCK!! |

Where are you located? Maybe someone local can assist you. If you're in North NJ, I'll be more than happy to assist.

^^ very nice and kind right there.
put the dime under the clip.try not to pry up the first time. than get your friend or w.e. to put there arm down there and pull the plug out. its as easy as that. btw while the person is pulling, lift accordingly until the plug comes out. this is a sure way u wont break the clip. good luck

If your to afraid of breaking anything, just remove the air box.it will take you 30 seconds to install the TT,and you will know exactely how to do it or remove it nextime with the air box on.

well, after 3 tries, each one totaling an hour, i went downtairs today with a small swiss army knife that had a narrow thin blade and was able to slide it in smoothly. The long blade helped me to keep something under the tab while i shifted my palm down the knife to the wire and it finally pulled out.
This try to 30 secs. NICEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i used the one on the bottom part in the pic right in the middle.

heres how i got it to work. some mentioned above too. i unclipped using a guitar pick while my brother pulls the wire. the wire was pulled out with little force. this method was much easier for first timers like myself. we both had one arm down there. i will admit, there was barely any space for two arms to fit.
