Bummer. I would call Cobb. They have good customer service and are a forum sponsor. Don't email, don't PM, call and talk to a human being.

I've read a thread where the AP was stolen and Cobb would charge the OP for a replacement unit and an additional fee for connecting a new AP to a car that was already married. If memory serves me, this thread was before the upgrade option to the V3.
As others have stated, call Cobb directly. Maybe they'll work something out with you, if you do the V2 --> V3 for $447.50

I had something similar happen with my AP v3. I contacted Cobb and they replaced the screen for free! They had it fixed and sent it back within the same day of receiving. They even overnighted it back to me. Cobb customer service FTW.

I bought a car with Cobb Stage 2 in it, but the previous owner lost the unit altogether, I contacted Cobb hoping they could just sell me the hand held part so I can remove the program if I can, and they would not. The only choice I was given was to buy a new AP and install over the current AP, which means I am paying for the full program again, even though it was paid for. If there wanted to be helpful, they could somehow sell me the blank unit which I would be able to marry to my car, but no go, so no, I did not have a good experience with COBB and looking for other options.
