2015 standard lease no more Comfort Package

Interesting. No more Comfort Package for the default lease setup.
The 328i gets Sport and metallic paint.
The 335i gets M-Sport, Tech and metallic paint.

This tells me BMW wants to reinforce the "sporty" side of the car. Basically every white/Asian mom will drive a Sport or a M-Sport by default now. So much for the differentiation

Guys is it really that hard to figure out what he is talking about?

BMW offers lease specials all the time. The current lease special he is describing is accurate for the 328 and 335. Heres the 328:

http://www.bmwusa.com/standard/conte...regiontypeid=2

So in other words, whats usually offered as the loss leader to get people in the door now has sport and m sport, and since most BMW buyers take advantage of these deals it means there will be more sport and m sport drivers out there vs a good deal on a base model no line bmw.

Was that so hard?

Not sure what you are really talking about but no most people will drive a base line at least for the 328i because they want the cheapest lease all for that badge at least here in so cal, every 3 series you see is a base line with no xenons I can't stand the way they look, with the e90s all you need were xenons not anymore

OK. I don't pay attention to BMW's advertised lease "specials". Virtually no one ever gets those deals, because dealers virtually never have cars in stock that match the offer. Dealers hate those ads and would prefer they didn't exist.

And there is no Comfort package on the F3x.

You clearly weren't paying attention to the many, many, many plain jane E90 328i's sold. Until the Value Package toward the end of the run non-sport 328i's came with 16" wheels and were every bit as plain as no-line F30s.

I get that, but maybe you can explain the part about "white/asian moms" to me.

Sure

The op was making a generalization based on an observation that discounts and deals tend to attract a wider audience to the car. There are many demo groups that may not have been BMW drivers if it weren't for the lease specials where the cars become within reach. I know I've personally seen many "mom" types driving base line 328s which used to be the lease loss leader so I'd say his position is not unfounded.

Again, not tough

Maybe OP is essentially upset that the vast majority of BMW drivers now and in history aren't/weren't 'driving enthusiasts' or people who track their cars or care about performance or whatever. Most people live in the real world where their average speed is about 20 mph and they spend most of their time plodding around in traffic and just want to do it comfortably, in a nice car, not caring that they are utilizing about 15% of their car's power and potential at any given moment.

People have always mostly gotten BMW for the badge or based on some perception that it is 'better' or the ultimate driving machine or whatever. People also get the cars for how they drive but probably don't realize it. Maybe he would like to believe that his small elite club of 'car people' who 'care' about driving and care about things like a $1000 headlight upgrade matter, when in reality, he is in the vast minority and less than 1% of car buyers care about any of that. Maybe it upsets him that Asian moms can drive BMW's because you should have to be the ultimate driving night rider badass to drive a BMW. He also clearly hates Asian people.

He silently cruises the mean streets at night, plodding his next move, spooling up his mighty turbo and clenching his sport steering wheel with his leather driving gloves. These BMW lease specials are maddening to him because if you aren't part of this elite team of driving pedigree, and you can't or aren't willing to fork over $685 a month on a car payment for a glorified 4 cylinder sedan, that you shouldn't be driving a BMW. You should be driving a Toyota or a Lexus. It's just not fair.

Then again, I could be speculating and he could have merely been making an observation. Carry on.

bmwusa is clear that "All figures presented are examples only". Technically any option/package combo that matches $41400 can use the same numbers quoted.

"Monthly lease payments of $409.00 for 36 months based on MSRP of $41,400.00. $4,134.00 cash due at signing is based on $3,000.00 down payment, $409.00 first month payment, $725.00 acquisition fee, and $.00 security deposit (not all customers will qualify for security deposit waiver). Tax, title, license, registration and dealer fees are additional fees due at signing. Program available from participating BMW dealers to eligible, qualified customers with excellent credit history who meet BMW Financial Services credit requirements. Payments do not include applicable taxes. All figures presented are examples only. Actual MSRP may vary"

Wow dude, you should write a novel. Mind boggling imagination, you gotten yourself all railed up and stuff, me hating Asian ppl, driving my ninja 328i lol.

My point was simple: most of the Dreiers i see on the road in the San Diego area are no line lease special, and they are driven by ppl that usually have no idea if their car is FWD or RWD. Being a hateful misogynistic, hard-core sexist, and an a$$whole racist I chose to nominate the white/asian moms as the anti-thesis of the driving enthusiast. You know, driving 65 in the left lane, both hands white-knuckled at 10&2, turning head to check on the kids in the back seat, etc.

When I saw a Sport or M-Sport there was a chance that the driver was a fellow enthusiast. Now that all lease specials will be Sport or M-Sport = no more differentiation.

That's all my dear friend. I hope the crucifixion has been postponed or even canceled. Damn, I said crucifixion, now I'm a Christianity hater.

1. Interesting. I thought dealers love those ads, just because it's less headache for them selling off the lot.

2. I apologize, I meant Premium. I screwed up my own thread, I'm an idiot

LOL

I think BMWUSA is trying to send a subliminal message to either dealership or customers or both to pretty please order and buy more Sport or M-Sport line cars? It's really sad to see all of these frumpy looking no-line cars on the road, but then again if BMW made the base model 3-series look proper in the first place they wouldn't have this problem.

I'd argue all the no-Line vehicles point to its popularity, not lack thereof.

Yeah, but ppl not ordering the lines must be eating in BMW's bottom line so they forced it on the customer's throat.

This is a very typical E90 328i. Note the 16" wheels. Fancy, huh?

Sounds like he's talking about the cars advertised under BMW's lease specials.

He's also implying that white moms and asian moms go for whatever lease deal they have since the lease specials are attractive and people who don't know much about leases tend to go for them as they're attracted by the monthly payment and have no idea how lease payments are calculated.

Not saying I agree with OP's stereotype though.

I personally like these lease specials since it makes my car stand out a little more than the tons of 3 Series I see on a daily basis. It's nice that BMW made the different lines look so different.
