Question - Torque Converter Replaced = Slow lauch?
Unfortunately I only had my E92 with 9K miles for a few days before I got a check engine light that led to a torque converter replacement.
After getting the car back it "seems" to be a bit slower on the launch - with the car in DS, DTC off, M1, and mashing the gas I get no wheel spin and it almost seems to bog a bit...takes off at about 2K though. Is this normal? I havent tried torque braking it yet but I was just wondering if any of you other step guys can get wheelspin from a dead stop without torque braking... |

With the reflash it correct a couple of things but i am not sure what it fixes, but from what i hear from the forum the 08's have this new program and all the new ECU program update also have this version, people are saying that it feels like its been de-tuned a bit...Some people have dyno'ed their cars and it has shown this to be somewhat true...Not sure in your case though, but just search the forum for threads!

Dude, they took your cheese!!!
I am one of the update victims. Absolutely, the car is detuned. People called me paranoid or said give the car time to adjust and learn. NADA, NADA, the car still feels slower and detuned. No-one believe this, but exactly my expirience after I was forced to go from V25 - v27 because of dying I-drive electronics. And, don't brake torque especially if you bought the car, its bad for the car.

Where did you notice the difference? To me it just seems to be on the low end. Feels like much more turbo lag than I remember.
That being said, I don't really think I fully stepped on it before the light. Is a step capable of wheel spin on a decent street without torque breaking? |
