335i modded vs e92 m3???
Does anyone know how a 335i with a piggyback (v2, jb2r, helix, etc) would hold up against the e92 m3??? I figured the 335i would have the advantage in the torque department but not in gearing.....?

I think you could find some races on youtube. People are saying that the V2 does very well but the 335 doesn't have a Posi Diff. Probably over the next couple years you'll see some people modifying the 335 to well over 500 HP. If you're into Tuning, the 335 will be your best option. However, an M3 is HOT as hell!

Better yet, drop a big nasty turbo on that thing and go hunting for bikes.
I just read a post on here that an E92 M3 put down 350 whp stock on 93 octane. Aren't they pretty heavy or am I off? Probably will take 370-380 whp 335i to walk one. |

Yea the e92 m3 is about 150 pounds heavier (ballpark) then the 335i coupe. If people are clocking 1/4 in mid 12's with tunned 335i's.... I would think it would prob be neck to neck with the m3 in the 1/4 but like you said your gonna def need at least 370 whp to take an m3 high end....

A V2 335i will walk the new M3 at any speed.

nah, the torque in the m3 is too low, v2 walks it by quite a few cars...

Ok guys, I did not want to post results and info on this, anyway the other night we did a e92 M3 (driver+two extra guys on board) vs a 335 e93 Procede V2 @90%+ITG filter vs a e92 335 Jb2 (both 335is had only the driver in).
I am a big fan of the 335 and of the Procede and I was sure it would have won.... but the M3 did win. I was filming, we did 3-4 rolling starts from 60 km/h to 200 km/h, maybe the fact that we chose to start in second meant the high revs favoured the M3, maybe the fact that both 335ìs were manual did not help either, however the result was more or less the same at every run, the M3 started pulling from the beginning and ended up 1-1,5 CL ahead of the Procede e93, while the Jb2 car was another 1-1,5 CL behind. Not a big difference, but the M is still the M.The sport button makes it accelerator become linked to your mind, when you think of flooring, it jumps ahead. Will try again with increased settings (94%-93 octanes) and possibly with catless Downpipes later on. Unfortunately the Procede 2 is not enough to beat the M3, even if the M3 owner said the Procede car was fantastic and he appreciated the low rpm torque, as much as I do. So after saying for months that the 335 procede 2 is a much better value for money car than the M3, well, I say: praise to the M. Will seek revenge soon. Yes guys, I got the videos, but unfortunately I am not going to post them, as a car with blue lights on the top was involved at the end of our last run, if you know what I mean. And if you want to think that this all story is a product of my fantasy, probably you haven't read my previous posts.... PS: and the M3 is not so bad in low range torque either, believe me. I drove it and I nearly fell in love. But I would still re-buy the 335, because unless you are a pilot it is hard to justify the extra money you need to spend to get the M....

we have put two extra guys in the M3 to compensate the 150 kgs difference, as I wrote.

The 335i represents an awesome value for the money. That it's in the same realm is kind of a slap in the face to the M3 owners. Not sure why BMW did that, but oh well, it works for us as 335i buyers.
