Engine oil - N55 335 / 10-60 ?
I have posted this in the oil section but no replies so I think to post here in view that more 335 is tuned.
With FBO (with oil cooler) and cobbed tuned - stage 2 - not yet teaked turbos or engine parts. Anyone is using 10w60 oils ? Any good or bad about this ? (No intention to go into methanol but intend to go stage 1/2 turbo only) Pleased to hear. |

I use castrol edge 0w-40. I read 10w-60 is not recommended?

Thanks reply.
I am thinking aloud. As I am riding a 335 e 92 YR built 2011. At this stage I have FBO along with stett oil cooler, my temperature is keep welling about 110 even on aggressive driving. As car is tuned, I believe 5-40 or 10-40 is suffice. Some indy shops suggested 10-50 for better protection. We can all see the M5/m6 are using the 10-60 oils. With a FBO, pro-tuned, is it not better to go for Castrol 10-60 ? Like some expert views on this ? Can see Castrol oils meets BMW expectations except without the LL-01/04. In Asia, temperature are hot but 5-40 is suffice. just thinking if 10-60 would be a better oil ? Appreciate expert comments/data. |
