Rear view camera poor image quality

Hey guys, just wanted to know if your rear view camera gives a decent image at night?
Mine is too dark, almost black....

UPDATE:
Here is a short (and poor) iPhone video I shut to demonstrate the problem with the rear view camera at night and low light conditions, on the first seconds the license plate lights are on, you can clearly see that everything behind the rear bumper almost disappears, then when I turn off the lights, you can see how image improves, definitely is a design mistake from BMW and mostly with light color cars like mine AW.

Yes but still too dark, never had a camera with such a poor low light image like this one....

Is it possible you waxed over the camera or it's dirty? Mine's plenty clear.

Haven't washed the car yet since it was delivered just last Friday, but on daylight image is great, it seems to me like an issue with the low light sensors, I will check tonight to see if I find something strange, thanks!

I added super bright led bulbs for the reverse lights to help with that. It helped a good deal but it's not a 100% fix.

It wasn't horrible but I did want additional light. I've compared mine to friends back up cams in other vehicle makes and they were all pretty low level at night. I'm sure the cameras manufacturers use are not built for very low light situations to keep costs in check...hence the LED bulbs.

Would you mind sharing how you got to the bulbs and what type of bulb the replacement for the reverse lights are? I went to look at what type of bulb the brake light is to see if I can change it to LED, but there was a big metal housing labeled "BOSCH" that did not look easy to remove. Almost like its meant for dealer service only.

No. Not possible at all. what kind of person would do that and not check after complaining about the video quality. Please don't just assume everyone is stupid.

Please explain how it's not possible? Even the owner's manual tells you to clean the cameras and from reading all the threads, it's obvious that not many people read the owner's manual.

Haha, I don't think bmw ever had back up cameras! We've been eyeing bmw for the longest time, never bought one cause they never had back up camera as an option,,, finally this 2015 has it, and my wife puts a deposit on a m3 without hesitating...

Backup cameras have been options on at least certain BMWs for many years...

Dude, I fucked up royally with tire pressures, and according to tests I at least used to be pretty damn smart. Everyone fucks up, and often that's the easy answer to these.

I bitched and moaned about tires not sticking, and before a friend looked at me like I was insane and deflated them, I was out. Went to get coffee while that was done, at least that's what I'll tell everyone.

Fuckups make this funny.

Meh, we have to give him a break, he's obviously new. With some of the threads we've had to endure, it's no wonder we all assume each of us is a moron.

We must be morons Why else would we be sitting here typing on a computer, talking about cars that are sitting in the garage begging to be driven the way we say we can drive them?

The same kind of person who did not check the M3/M4 pricing guide before complaining about full leather is not standard on an $80K out the door car?

I kid, I kid.

I assume your vehicle is alpine white? Cause mine is as well and i get the same problem. Its cause the bright color of the car with a combination of the angle of the camera that at night the white color is reflecting into it therefore everything else in the dark is hard to see.

You don't have to assume. It shows AW/SO M4 by his name.
