Picking up some HRE 540 - Offset questions
So I put a deposit on some HRE 540 18x8 and 18x9 wheels. They are 5x130 but come with 5x120 adapters. With adapters the seller said he believes the offset is ~ ET14 with adapters (originally in the 40s). He was running them on a E46 and the previous owner had them on a E90, both with no issues. Currently there are almost new Michelin PSS on the wheels (205/35/18 and 245/40/18) which are obviously not ideal. With factory tires (will be moving my Bridgestone's over), will I run into any fitment issues with such a low offset?

If you roll the front flat and shave the rear you should be ok depending what tire size you get. Where's @MonacoBlueE90 he has all the answers for fitment

These can work, but rear definitely needs fender roll at least, maybe needs some trimming to that fender/bumper bracket piece. Possibly have to adjust some camber, especially if you deside to lower it, but still totally doable. Front should be fine without issues, maybe if you lower it at some point you need to some modifications.
Are you sure about those current tyres, those doesn't make sence? I would assume those are 205/40/18 and 245/35/18? If these are the correct sizes i would use them, if not then my max choice would be 215/40/18 and 245/35/18 combo. I wouldn't use these with factory 225/40/18 and 255/35/18 tyres, because those would have zero stretch. Here are two closest examples i could find. 18x8 et10 215/35/18 front and 18x9 et4 225/35/18 rearhttp://eurostance.co.uk/kalle-wests-...-bmw-325i-e90/ 18x8 et7.5 215/35/18 front 18x9 et2 225/40/18 http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=806941 Take note that et14 at lci rear is the same as et6 at pre-lci rear would be.

This is not what I wanted to hear, but it is better I figure this out now. The seller still has them on ebay and says the offset is ET7 on there. I am not looking to do roll/cut my fenders, so it looks like these are not the wheels for me

They do make narrower adapters I believe. I've seen as thin as 15mm, an adapter is basically just a bolt on wheel spacer. That adapter is really thick, looks like a 38mm which is 1.5". So if you got it down to a 15mm adapter, you've just freed up 20mm of space.
Just putting another option out there, it's more expense so it depends on how much you want that set of wheels. |

Not sure what you are paying, but for the money he is asking you can get a set of 5x120 540's for the same price if not cheaper. It may take a little time to find them but I would wait.

The offset is too aggressive and won't look right on factory sport suspension; the wheels will be poking out about 1/2"+ from the fenders. The tires are also a bit too small. They would look a bit better if the car was lower IMO.
