Slave Cylinder
I just finished installing a new clutch in my 335xi which I must say I would not recommend doing by yourself the trans is one heavy SOB!
So my issue right now is I just got the trans back bolted in to the car and installed the slave cylinder. When I went to push in the clutch pedal it just went straight to the floor and i felt a slight "pop". Having a feeling this wasn't good at all I made sure the linkage was still good on the interior and then went to the bottom to inspect the slave cylinder. Sure enough after pulling it off and inspecting I found the two internal plastic pieces that go together had broken. Im hoping you guys can point me in the right direction here, I have some thoughts on this: I had to push the piston in on the cylinder to remove it from the tranny, which I'm sure caused pressure buildup inside the unit and when I pushed the pedal in the pressure was too much? I just don't know how you could put it in wrong it seems too simple and the trans bolted back on to the engine just fine. I'm thinking that wouldn't have been possible if the TOB was not in correctly
**EDIT After thinking back about the removal the space is very limited under there. The two internal pcs must have cracked on the removal as I had to use a pretty sever angle to remove the slave cylinder. Purchased a new one from the dealer put it in, bled it out......Works PERFECT! No issues with the alignment as I originally thought. Last edited by advancevo27; 07-25-2015 at 11:11 AM.. |
