F80 Carbon roof or painted?

I have a hard time deciding if I should go with the carbon roof or the painted roof on the new F80. I will get the metallic white and I'm not sure I like the black carbon top.
Does the carbon roof have a big impact on the way the car feels and drives?
Thanks.
Ciprian.

No tangible difference on the street. The most noticeable difference on the track will be less headroom with a sunroof.

Get the sunroof if you like sunroofs. Most people who speak of the performance benefits of the carbon roof would opt for a sunroof if the delete roof was metal.

I chose CF roof because I think my Silverstone exterior M3 looks better with a black color roof. Don't choose roof option based on performance. If you like sunroof, get it.

It is not about what others want. It is your car and your decision. I am getting the sunroof and have taken alot of grief for it in this forum, but it is my car and I plan to enjoy it. No one else has to drive it. I like the looks of the CF roof, but prefer the things offered by the sunroof.

It is your choice - decide what YOU want.

If you don't like the look that much get a MG or BSM color so it blends more. I wouldn't paint it ever, if I really needed to cover it up I would do a color match wrap or close to it (so AW color would be good for this since no metallic).

At least you could remove it when it comes time to sell and it would look mint since it has been covered up.

If you are gonna paint it, get the sunroof. Otherwise rock the CF!!!!!

I have a Mineral White M3 with black wheels. This is the perfect color to get the Carbon roof with because you get a lot of contrast. I've had several comments about how the roof and the wheels make the car so much more "special" looking, even compared to the brand new AMG E63S that I often park next to at work.

Hell, even the 50yo secretary lady commented on it.

Ciprian.
if you are asking if there's a big difference in feel/drive .. chances are you wouldn't notice it. i'm guessing a majority of people who go CF for performance reasons wouldn't feel it (myself included). however, by the numbers, a lower center of gravity helps. my wife loves sunroofs but agrees that the CF roof offers a lot of pop against the AW paint. CF also plays into the racecar mentality of the car. again, i won't be racing but since i'm getting the car for its performance prowess, the CF seems like a nice feature. I do wonder if the contrasted roof color will get played out and look too "fast & furious" but for now i think it looks really cool.

those are my reasons. good luck making your mind up!

I've seen both, and the CF option looks better. Karussell and that lot can notice a difference in the weight and the balance probably, I will never be able to do that. Peter is a pretty boy with the black roof of his.

This. x1000. It's your car, get what will make you feel better.

For me, that's the option to have the sunroof open on occasion, and the option to put roof racks on for taking my bike places.

For others, it's the looks of the CF roof.

And for some others, it's the (slight) performance advantage the light weight CF roof offers. Most of those who claim this, of course, don't have the driving prowess to take advantage of this, but a few do.

While I don't have the CF roof (wanted to have a sun roof), the CF roof is certainly not rice. Anytime you can save 40 lbs from a relatively high point on the car, thus lowering the CG, is a good thing.

CF = looks good
Moonroof = feels good

If you need contrast you can always paint the roof.
