iPod audio- use standard USB cable and separate headphone cable?
So, I currently have a y-cable that is on the fritz. I searched and read through the sticky on the y-cable but didn't see anything covering it specifically, so I apologize if this has been covered before and I missed it. But can I just use a standard 30-pin USB cable on my iPod and a separate double-male 3.5mm audio cable in replacement of the y-cable?

Did you check on Amazon? I bought one there for 15 bucks if I remember correctly. Its not oem but appears to work just fine.

Define "work." Audio will come out, but you won't have any wheel control or head unit display or any of the other goodies the Y cable brings.

At least, I assume it's the y-cable that has crapped out. That is the easiest place to start...
