X5M Production?
My dealer is telling me production will probably start Feb of next year, but I'm not certain of that. I figured I would ask the experts on here if there was any truth to that or if it was going to be sooner? Anyone know when US production will likely begin? The wife's X5 end of lease is fast approaching and we're debating what to do...

When I went into the dealer they actually showed me the production schedule and it did say February. The salesman told me they will be in production in January but probably wont start making their way to the dealers until February.

From what I've heard is that the cars will start production in November and hit showrooms around Jan/Feb

Decided on the Cayenne GTS. The wife could not be sold on the new bodystyle, M or not. It's her car and I couldn't fight it anymore. However, I did spec out the GTS for her, so I would at least enjoy it.

The current generation GTS should be in production for another 1 or 2 years so you should be ok until the next generation GTS goes into production. Would you mind sharing your GTS specs? I'd like to compare it to ours. And congrats! |

Customer productions starts January 2015 and then End of MY15 production is as soon as June 2015? That is one hell of a short production cycle!
I'd probably just wait for a MY16 production slot, myself. |

I would not be shocked if they pulled the DCT on the X5M and offered it on the X6M only since the x6m is the "sporty" model. I have been waiting to see what BMW does with this. Unfortunately, I have this feeling x5m will disappoint and force me to Porsche Cayenne

I'll be honest with you, I traded a 2013 Cayenne GTS for an E63 AMG-S, and that SUV with a Burmeister sound system was probably the best SUV. Have had 3 X5's (E70's), and I think BMW is losing the quality battle. Maybe a little underpowered for some, but that naturally aspirated V8 was nice nonetheless.

I read on the EU site that it had a variable control torque split. Able to have 100 percent to the rear wheels.
This is likely the best improvement over the E70M. Wonder if it is going to make it to the US. |

Just ordered X6M with all options, long beach blue with brown interior. It has 576hp, standard active M diffs. BMW Munich confirmed that it will be the first delivered in EU late Feb.
One question: dealer received today a paper from Munich in which they state: front & rear composite brake discs. I don't think this has any to do with ceramic brakes, right? |

Here in my country we don't have the options in packages like US. Each option it's separate for sell. Ventilated M seats, Night Vision +, tv, alcantara roofliner with contrast brown stitching, HUD, etc.
