F32 Water pooling on cowl

After washing, there are two spots on the cowl that end up pooling water. I end up having to dry these out by hand after each wash. Can anyone else confirm if these are supposed to drain anywhere?

I've attached a picture of the center part of the cowl. There is a similar spot towards the passenger side that does the same thing.

Drilling a small hole allows the water to drain. Not sure where it drains on driver side.

Wow. This is unbelievable. Something must be done at once! I'm headed to the dealer and taking this up with the service manager. If they don't buy my car back, BMW North America will be hearing from me!

I did have a recall for a grommet not allowing water to drain but i think this is a different location.

Anyone check with BMW or dealer to see if there is a recall for this?

I've got the same problem on my 435 GC.

If no one else does I'll look at this and fix it over the Winter.

Correctly me if I'm wrong but isn't it pooling on plastic? If so I'm not worried about it.

It is plastic.

It's not a huge deal and a first world problem for sure. The fact that the water doesn't drain means that dirt and debris stays there too. If water pools there and it freezes then thaws slightly now you the possibility of a projectile flying off your car.

Again, first world problem but something I will eventually take care of.

Its the windscreen wipers holes for left and right hand cars. Can't believe they didn't mould some drainage channels or at least put some tubing to drain out the water. Poor design really. The car's got it's own pond.
You can't drill holes out either as there are some components underneath.

You can drill a small hole in the passenger side (I did it), just not the middle one (unconfirmed)

Anyone have an update on this?
Has BMW issued a TSB or changed the cowl to allow water to drain?

I drilled a small hole in each. Did an M4 as well.

Sometimes it's the small things that make all the difference. Takes longer to put the bit in the chuck than to actually drill.

Where does the center one drain to underneath?

Noticed this Monday night during a wash. Bit of a surprise. You know they did water testing.

This sort of bothered me, it just seemed a little silly how much water can pool there, but it has never caused an issue so I've ignored it.

a couple of years ago, when i took my car for service, i did notice a line item saying it was replaced. Maybe some dealers are aware of the issues, and are replacing it.
