330i wont start?

So yesterday I disconnected the battery to put a new relay in, I reconnected the battery and all was fine. I drove to get groceries and back with no problems. then today I went to drive to work and It just wouldnt turn over..? The battery is a year old from BMW. All the lights work. I am stuck, it wants to turn over but wont. I wasnt able to pull any codes either when I scanned it with the BAV tool.

any ideas?

check the IBS sensor (page 8), you may have screwed it up when replacing the battery, this thing is very sensitive

This was the problem with mine. I went as far as buying a new battery to find out that all I needed to do was pull the IBS plug out.

If the IBS is not plugged or bad the car shouldn't have any power or I'm wrong? OP stated the lights work, can crank, just can't start. OP can you turn instruments on, go to hidden menu and see what voltage the car is reading?

What's your mileage? My 330i's starter went at 84k. It started with an occasional no start once or twice a month. Then it started doing it every morning. But the part was only about 160, and it was a whole lot easier than I imagined it was gonna be

My starter lasted 197,000 miles (mostly highway so not a lot of starts I guess). Mine was a bit of a pain in the ass to change because I ended up having to change the entire oil breather system that had succumbed to the heat over those miles and became brittle. I ended up having to essentially redo the job because I forgot to plug in the tank vent valve sensor. It was much easier the second time. Hopefully there will not be a third.

It was probably a loose connection to the terminals. Happened to my E30 and couldn't figure it out ended up jump starting it thinking it was the damn starter. I would get power and then dead. I went checked the batter and looked good but then moved it and lights turned back on. I unscrewed everything and was some corrosion so took a screwdriver and just filed away. Never an issue again.

Starter is PAIN! I would never take that on myself.

I think it might be, the cords above the Engine cover clippedinto the cabin air filter?
