Hard Brake Pedal!

OK, when I turn the car off and say come back in about 30min to and hour the brake pedal goes rock hard! Its like when you are doing a brake bleed after you have pumped the brakes up. Brake fluid level is spot on the max mark. No evidence of brake fluid leaking anywhere. This happens three or five times a week. Car has 5100 miles on it and it happens hot or cold conditions. Anyone have any clue of whats going on? Dealer appointment this Wednesday.

Known issue (SIB). Take it to the dealer, they will fix it.

I get this sometimes, but I haven't found it to be much of a problem. My car still starts, and as soon as it does, the brake pedal returns to normal. Is this something that absolutely needs to be fixed or is it ok to leave alone for now if it's not causing any real trouble?

I have the same thing. I just thought it was normal. Doesn't bother me a bit - I just chalked it up to a quirky BMW thing that I'm not familiar with. Seriously, unless the system is losing fluid, who cares??

Yeah, I think it's one of those things that if you bring it in to be fixed, something else will get broken.

I have the same. Will try to get it fixed. IIRC it's a hydraulic valve out of spec's. BMW knows the problem.
