2015 spec F30

Trawling through the internet there appears to be a new slightly face lifted car due for launch Jan 2015. My current F30 316d sport is due to be changed next 2 months as it heads for 100k. Wondered if anybody with a friendly dealer had heard any news. Choice will be 320d m sport or 520d. I be disappointed ordering new car only to find couple months after delivery new car is launched

Do want a EE5 diesel ( that upsets Boris) or a slightly more refined slightly faster and slightly more economical EE6 diesel but which uses AD Blue? A question to be resolved is the cost of the ad blue fliud going to be included in the service pack like oil.

Not heard whether the ad blue fluid cost in the service pack for the new X3 which already use the new diesel EE6 engine range.

Very few in press mentioning the Ad blue fluid issue that is used by most EE6 complient diesels

It's a painful fact of life that the state of the art motor you have, gets upgraded.
Mine was ordered just last week...
The benefit of PCP eh?

The Jaguar XE is also due out 2015.

That I think will persuade some BMW buyers to jump ship.

Launch is September so maybe more details from then

It'be a long time before decent discounts appear on new models like the Jag.
I Had a quote earlier this week on a MB E class 250 AMG Coupe and to keep the same amount of monthlies on pcp they wanted 7.5k on the top my car and it was actually 2.5k cheaper on list price, BMW asked for £900 to get me into a more expensive one. Went to see the new C class but wasn't impressed also no discounts.

Yes will take a while, however long term it is a serious challenge to the main German rep mobiles.

The new generation 2.0 litre diesel is working it's way out into all BMWs.

You really want that as it's a big improvement over the rattly old version they currently fit.....

I thought the facelift isn't going into production until next summer?

This Ad blue thing...

Currently it's available as a £900 option...

No one can explain to me why, unless I'm fanatical about saving seals and rainforests, I should tick that option box??

I've ordered a a EUR5 car...am I going to get royally done over in a couple of years time for that and kick myself for not spending an extra £900 for no visible benefit?

Strangely enough - I gather the 6 cylinder versions are EU6 compliant without AdBlue.

Not certain about the new 2.0d (B47) engine and whether it uses AdBlue as I can find any definitive reference.

For the new X3 and X4 which use the new N47 the BMW web site says " Thanks to BMW BluePerformance, the four-cylinder diesel engine also complies with the EU6 emissions" It also says that for the six cylinder diesel as well.

the blue performance leaflet is here http://www.bmw.com/com/en/owners/ser..._AdBlue_EN.pdf

The problem I have is that I cannot find clarity as to whether the term "blue performance" means ad blue is used or whether they are using the term just to mean EU6 complient.

Ok, so wait...I've just ordered a 330d...am I EUR6 compliant?

The options list for the 330d lists "BMW Diesel with blueperformance" as a £995 option??

I'm confused enough as to why anyone would want this as an option..and even more confused if the car is already EUR6 compliant without the ADblue nonsense...

Ideas anyone?

To make a 330D Euro 6 compliant you need to spec BluePerformance at £995. I know this because the standard 330D without it on my co. car list is Euro 5, whereas mine with the added BluePerformance is Euro 6.

This also does not need AdBlue - it's tech that has been used and no need for what I have heard is a Urea based injection system that needs individually topping up.

I am not 100% sure on the 20D's etc but from what I have read it is different markets/ countries that are using the AdBlue injection system, not the UK.

Hope that helps.

So the 330d doesn't need AdBlue to achieve EUR6...

Is this something that could be done as a retrofit? I guess there are company tax implications, butas a private buyer..at £995 it's not something I need is it?

If the law changes and I get taxed a million pounds a year for having a EUR5 car, can I retrofit EUR6 compliance?

OK - my mistake. 330d needs AdBlue to be EU6 Compliant. I am fairly certain the 335d is EU6 compliant without needling AdBlue.

I'm sure a 335d owner could confirm.

Does anyone know if the LCI will contain a new / different hybrid engine. I'm seriously tempted with the AH3 but if there's an alternative round the corner, I'll probably hang on. Current F30 320ED privately owned, fully paid for, averaging 14k miles per year.

More F30 series petrol hybrids are due within the next two to four years but not immediately at LCI. One of the mags I read had them expected about 2016

Sorry, I think I might have confused. 330D needs BluePerformance to be Euro 6. This BluePerformance for my car, and UK cars, does not use AdBlue as part of the BluePerformance technology.

Thanks. It'll be interesting to see what they put up to compete with the 30k Tesla Model 3. That's probably the only thing that is likely to tempt me away from BMW in the next few years.
