Does the base stereo have an SD car slot?

Hey all,

Just wondering if the base stereo on the 2-series (that is, non Harmon Kardon) has an SD car slot to play my MP3s from.

Thanks!

Or any USB thumb drive...

I wouldn't even be surprised if USB worked on an android phone...

You can even store your ripped mp3's on the systems hard drive (20gb).

I have a lot to learn! This is clearly my first BMW. I didn't know the audio systems came with a 20 GB HDD or even a USB port. Thanks for all that!

The USB port is in the console between the front seats.

Tip: Load all your mp3's all at once (20 GB) before you load them into the car's hard disk. Otherwise, the car treats each separate "loading" as a different device, leaving you with a list that says "USB1, USB2, USB3, etc.

What format does the USB drive need to be in? My 64gb drive came with exfat and my Mustang couldn't read it until I reformatted to fat32.

I only have performance upgrades, other than the upgraded sound (HK), will my 2015 228i have any internal music storage at all?

Thanks!
