Sore Looser

Its been a while since I posted. In any case, I'm on my way home from finishing christmas shopping. I'm driving down 81 and this 328i coupe pulls up and then blows by me. I don't see many E92 coupes where I live so I was just happy to see another E92. In any case I'm cruising along and eventually catch up to him (like 10 miles later). So the guy is looking my car over and its obvious its not a 328 (not that anything is wrong with a 328 E92, I like all BMWs). So he blows by me again and slows down and pumps his brakes lie he wants to run. I figure he knows he will lose, but maybe he just wants to have a few pulls. So I bite. I figure in good sportsmanship, I'll try to make this as even as possible. we're doing around 80, I'm in 5th gear. So he pulls and I leave the car in 5th and drop the hammer (btw the my car isn't stock). I immediately pass him and when I'm a car length in front of him I start to brake. So he backs off and I slow down to let him catch up. He obviously does not want to go again. So I proceeded to give him a thumbs up and go on my way and the f*&%er flipped me off. What was that all about. I don't think I really deserved that reaction from fellow E92 owner.

Maybe he realized he spent a ton of money on mods but still doesn't quite cut it. But I agree, that's questionable behaviour!

You would think they wouldn't be as sore if they were that loose.

It's possible that he didn't want to do any pulls, that you misread his behavior. Your pacing him, then passing him, then slowing in front of him may actually have been a real annoyance.

Just something to consider: it's possible that not everyone who varies their speed on the highway is trying to signal you that they want to race.

It's happened to me: while driving home supralegally, minding my own business, I pass a guy in a speedy car. For one reason or another, he thinks it'd be fun to race me. So, he pulls up alongside, jumps ahead, drops back, jumps ahead, all the while he's blocking one of the lanes I'd normally use to pass slower traffic. If I choose to speed up to escape this menace, he could easily mistake this move for the start of a race. If he blows by me, great, I'm rid of him. But if he immediately chooses to slow down again (to gloat or otherwise), he's again chosen to block one of my escapes. At this point, I'm really annoyed. He gets the finger.

+ 1 They are all a bunch of assholes.

But its weird, because the other day, some dude in a e90 325 wanted to race me. So he floors it, and he ends up going 60mph in a 40 mph zone with traffic. Moron!
