Service history in idrive

Should the service history tab be active after the 2000km service?
I just did the first oil change and reset at the dealer, but still don't see the service history menu entry...

I got an answer saying that the service history tab turns on only after the second oil change.

It should be active straight after the 1200 mile service.

Did you do the 2000km service and have it active? Could you please attach a picture?

This is strange. BMW Niederlassung München Service say this menu tab should appear at the next oil change. Can you please show what it says when you enter service history?

Thanks.

Just saw it after I posted. I really don't understand why I don't have it. They did the computer reset after the first service though...

I had my car serviced in Germany as well so I'm not sure. When did you get the service and how many km are on your car?

I got it serviced last Thursday and it had 2016km.

Edit: I bought the car from Germany, but did the first service in Romania.

I can only assume that your dealership hasn't done something to activate it in your car. I would go back in , show them these pics and tell them to sort it out!

I will ask some friends. I know that when the first service is done, the tech MUST reset the BC via the scan tool and NOT using the odometer reset on the instrument pannel(Kombi).

Do you have DCT ? Check and see IF your launch control works? I bet it doesn't. This is bc your dealer (probably) reset the BC using the easy way with the odo trip reset and not the scan tool.

The launch control doesn't work! But I was there the whole time they did the service and, at the end, they connected a wireless communicator to the car's OBD port and they worked on it via a hand held tablet. I even mentioned them not to reset it via de BC button.

Arrow Your dealer must deactivate the pre-delivery check...

Yup, the tech did not perform the first service correctly when he reset the BC.

I asked my buddy who is an engineer at BMW AG. He gave me this...

Your dealer must deactivate the pre-delivery check and record the his work in the electronic service history (which is in the car).

Good Luck,

I see, thanks. I have posted a link to this thread in another thread where members are not able to activate LC. Looks like this could be the reason why in some cases.

Yup. Thanks for cross posting. Yes, this is most likely why they can not activate LC.

I have a strange combination of these issues - I have LC active but no Service History in the Service Required tab i.e. Just the future requirements are visible.
