Cobb Success Story

Since people usually only use this forum to either share their problems or complain about their cars, I'd like to share a positive story. I was experiencing long cranks on cold starts a couple times a week. When I took my car in, I removed my Cobb and the D'ship updated my DME software to solve the problem. When I got my car back last weekend, to my surprise, the accessport could not read my DME and displayed an error message because my DME software was incompatible. I thought I was screwed to say the least. I even put my AP on craigslist because I thought I would have to get a JB4. Cobb support contacted me the following business day and within 24 hours, they were able to release a beta firmware that would allow the accessport to read my DME.

A special thanks for the quick turnaround and great customer service from the John, Jared, and the rest of the Cobb support staff.

This is great to hear. I know Cobb gets some heat here due to the majority of the tuned cars having JB4, but I love my AP.

Great support, ease of use, and if I have to bring it into the dealer I really don't have to do more than plug it in and reset it.

Ya they haven't figured out your car or the F3x cars which is why I was worried that my DME would no longer be supported.

Well the F3x DME is not just a different firmware, it cant be cracked yet because it is 1024 bit RSA encrypted where our E9x is only 256 bit RSA encrypted.
Someone will be able to crack 1024 bit encryption sooner or later but for now I think its only the NSA. haha
