Radio SHACK USB-SERIAL SUCKS

After many hours of trying to get my Procede connected to my computer, I finally had to take out the cable from the glove box to only replace it with one from Bestbuys....The Radioshack cable was not compatible to any of my two laptops, the driver disc couldn't work with XP (thats crazy!) All i have to say is don't go with Vishnu recommendations of the Radioshack cable because you will get yourself in a jam and start a thread of "I CAN"T CONNECT TO PROCEDE"...Well changed the wire to my glove and everything is working perfect...I just couldn't believe that it was the Radioshack cable all along...Take my advice and not go with the Radioshack cable.

Like i said if you have the receipt to return the damn cable, do yourself a favor and go to Bestbuys and get their cable...You have been warned and i hope you will take my advice...but if you can't get connected to the Procede, its the damn Radio Shack cable

Never had a problem but my laptop is on vista not XP

well i have a Vista and XP running system, and the Radio shack cable didn't work for either laptops, when to Bestbuys and bought their cable, and it worked the very first time...I didn't change any configuration or do anything different to the laptops and with the new cable success...

I used the one from Best Buy, actually Radio Shack didn't have any......I was running around town during the peak of the christmas shopping freaking out b/c my V2 was installed hardware wise but not software....only Best Buy had anything that I could use.

So, Best Buy worked just fine for me.

yeah i know but i didn't want to believe it was the Radio cable and i though it was me but with my case it was either a defective cable or they outright suck ass...they should close down for business...I don't even understand how they can compete with the BIG chains!!

Mine worked fine too. I had to go in manually and set the port cause it wanted to use port 17 for some reason, but after changing that it always worked fine.

Yeah I bought mine at Comp USA because they had a Vista compatible one for my Vista Laptop and no issues.

Call it user error whatever...Its pretty simple loaded the Radioshack Driver cd into computer with Vista and one with XP...both stated in the Wizard that it was not able to install the drives...bought new cable loaded it with driver cd and presto it worked...Yeah pretty much a user error!!! or maybe just my luck that my computer doesn't like the shack cable!!

My cable from radio shack took forever as well to work... Well, that was according to the installers of my V2

Yes u need the same cable to upload maps and firmwares in the future...Buy another wire and the problem will be solved...Radio Shacks suck
