Ipod/Iphone integration

Running the 30 pin iPod in my 2009 E92. I want to use a newer iPod with the Lightening pin. The BMW parts guy locally says they don't have the cable for the Lightening pin. How can that be? He says there is a dock however for an iPhone. I plan on hooking up a iPod Nano.

Is this true? No BMW Lightening cable? If there is one anyone know the part number? The dealer want huge cash for the cable. I recall buying the 30 pin for less than $20 on Amazon a while ago. There are some Lightening pin ones there now but wonder what the quality is. Any scoop on this?

There is a 30-pin to lightning adapter. Little white thing and cheap on Ebay. I use one in the car when I want to attach the Iphone instead of my old Ipod.
