Brake Bedding?

Less than 200 miles on my new M4. Not the carbon ceramics.

Noticed yesterday when driving slowly a scraping sound from the left rear wheel approximately every half turn.

I jacked up the car, put it in neutral and spun the wheel, and sure enough, it was coming from the brake caliper.

Decided to drive a bit and pump the brakes to see if that helped. As I drove, when I swerved right, the sound grew louder, and disappeared when going straight. Eventually it stopped altogether and I can't get it to happen anymore.

I figure this may be part of the brake bedding process. Thoughts?

Any updates here? I heard the same sound at the very first day I picked up my M3, also on the left side. Today with almost 800 km on the clock I heard it again much louder and even often at low speed :-(

What did BMW say about that? Suspension and/or brakes issues simply drive me crazy.

No more brake scraping. Stopped around 500-800 miles.

Still get the rock in the heat shield sometimes that causes painful-sounding scraping noises.

Could have been some dirt that got caught around the brake caliper

This is a rock. It sounds awful but it is not bad. It happened to many of us. I was terrified!
