Software Update, will it mess up v2 map?

So I called BMW and they said it is the fuel pump and they'll have it fixed. One thing I'm concerned about at this point is that they tried to fix the problem with a software update. My question is, will the software update effect the V2 map or will shiv need to make a new map just like the one for the new 08 ecu?

I thought it was confirmed with Dynos that the '08 ARE NOT down on power. They are just smoother. There is a thread in this section somewhere.

I can confirm that it will lost the low rpm power. I have a Sep 2006 production Auto E92. I upgrade it to the BMW program 27.02.02 from 25.02.02 early Nov 2007. My car feel a lot slower. It had loss a lot of low rpm power. When it had program 25.02.02 with Procede 1.47. that it had a lot of power. Now, I put in Procede 2.02 with program 27.02.02 and it still does not have the low rpm power as Procede 1.47. But it has more high rpm power with procede 2.02 and it also much smoother. The buttom line is the car will not spool up as fast as before when you upgrade to program 27.02.02.

By the way, v2 2.0.2 is suppose to lower the torque down low but has more hp.

So your new update didn't affect the PROcede? It's working fine with the 2.0.2 map and no cels?

I disagree, I have 27.2.1 and the power at low rpm is just fine, comes on smoother than 25.0.0 but not down on power in any way. What some maybe noticing is the different throttle response. I did notice that, takes more accelerator to do the same thing. In version 25 the throttle had a dead spot at the beginning and then to much all at once. Do a couple runs and I think you will see what I mean, if the cars are down on power in low RPM's your times will be worse. I have not found that with the new software

I think the issues is that you are confusing the two upgrades.

Everyone has said that low end power with 2.0.2 is less than with 1.47.

Did you drive the car stock after the upgrade to 27.02.02?

Most of that is gone with later software, that was the first thing I noticed when driving.

It is recommended you take it out before you go in for any kind of service at the dealership.....

I just talked to a nice guy at a dealership 'friendly with mods' and he mentioned that anytime they reprogram the software they make a note of something like the PROcede or any "add on". I think it is somehow recognized and documented by the computer making the upgrade. He told me to take it out as I need a software upgrade to rid me of an errant taillight malfunction and brake pad replace warning. Apparently, other than that, they (being this particular dealership) will "neglect to notice" our 'supplements'. Story is, the head mechanic is a nut for upgrades and runs all sorts of goodies on his personal 335i.

Taking mine out this weekend for a service next week. I have had it with these stupid warnings. Glad to hear power delivery is smoothed out with the update.
