What is the cord for?
Hey guys, I got a 09 335i coupe a few days ago and I was messing around with it and came across this under the cover (cord goes into the fuse box?) Its a usb cord.
Thanks |

Could be for updating a JB4 that used to be in the ECU compartment.

I just went out and took the air filter off and thought that would allow me to take the white cover off but it didn't. Do I have to take off that black molding piece that covers a lot of surface area? Pain in the ass

Play with the steering wheel controls. If the menu pops up then you have jb4. Not sure if this only works on the newer versions though. Check out the jb4 website and it should tell you how to pull up the menu. I forgot how to do it. Its been a while. But at least if it works it saves you time not taking the cover off.

Go to the BMS website, you'll find all your answers there (how the jb4 looks like, how to use the steering wheel controls, etc)

Turns out I have some kind of mapping. Maybe jb4? When I hit both buttons down on the steering wheel I enter the program but when I enter the tuning both of my blocks in between my tachometer and speedometer are orange. Does that seem right? The map that is on the car right now is map 5. Auto tune? How many numbers is the speedo supposed to go up to? Mine goes to 9 aka 9 different options. I was reading a chart online that said 14. A little help would be great

Here
Edit: You have to do your homework. 1st you gotta find out if you are running "ISO" or not. Then download the latest firmware, then you have to learn how to do your settings, are flex fuel wires installed? Like a said, way too much info to post. You have to search a little. Start at www.n54tech.com

Make sure you go on the BMS (Burger Motorsports) website and read up on the JB4. Also google JB4 N54tech and read the info and user pages in there before you start messing around with any of the settings of the Jb4. Did the car come with any other mods? I find it sort of sketchy that the seller didn't even tell you that it had a JB4 installed.
