Confused about winters for M4...
I'd like to buy wheels for a square setup on my 435i xDrive to transfer to a new M4 in a year or two. It looks to me like an 8" wheel with 32mm offset and 225/45 18 tires should work well for both vehicles. Yes or no?

Maybe but until you test fit it, very difficult to know for sure.

Well gthal...
In terms of tires, only 225/45 18 or 245/40 18 makes sense for a square setup. Assuming Tire Rack has it right, BMW is recommending a staggered 245/40 and 265/40 setup.

I plan on running a 19x9 ET 25 to 30'ish and a 255/35-19 tire.

Hmm...
It looks like I might be safer to go with 225/40 19s on an 8.5" x 19" wheel with a 30mm offset. 225 should work for me - I ran my 335i coupe w/ Dinan stage 2 for 5 winters on 225s with 421 foot pounds of torque - and no LSD.

Yeah, but that eliminates all rotation since you can only rotate high performance winters front to back. I think if I were choosing just for the M4 I'd go with 235/40 19s.

BMW recomends and I am going to run 255/35/19 on the oem winter rims. 8,5 and 9* 19. 19 because og the ccb.
Nokia hans soft winter tires in that size. Studs and normal. I am going for studs so i can take the car on the icetrack.... I can check the 18 oem setup if you guys want. the have a continetal tire for there normal setup but that is usless in Norway.

Yep... their new R2 if memory serves me. That is what I will use this winter.

For the 18" setup, the recommended tire is the 255/40R18. The ETK database shows the recommended tire as the Conti Winter Contact, but Michelin's euro websites also show a Pilot Alpin for the BMW. Unfortunately both are unavailable in the US at this time, but that may change as we get closer to the winter months.
