Swapping TPM
Are the sensors easy to swap wheel to wheel? I had the square setup before and got the staggered rear rims and PSS tires to be installed today. I'm hoping they can install the sensors in the bare rims I got. Anyone who's gone aftermarket had to buy new sensors or did the tire shop swap them over?

thats what I did, think I paid around $150 for all 4. Makes things a little easier when dealing w/ aftermarket wheels and wanting to go back and forth btwn both sets |

Do you have a link where you got them? I'm going to start cobbling together my winter set and I don't want to move them back in forth between wheels twice a year. $150 is much better than $480.

+1 on sensors for that cheap. I found on Tire Rack for the M235i the sensors are about 100 each wheel totaling 400. When i got winter setup for my 135i it cost me about 150 for a full set. Its crazy they are so expensive now.

If I don't have sensors on my winter setup I just get a warning light on my dash, right? Anything else?

Other than the light is there anything else about the car itself that will be impacted? Can it be coded off then back on when summer wheels with TPMS are back on?

Canadian late model BMWs (2014 M235i) - TPMS
This is directed at the Canadian participants in this TPMS thread:
Unless something has changed recently (ie 2014) Canadian BMWs do not use sensors in each of the 4 wheels. Warning of a low tire occurs via the ABS system (the low tire will rotate at a different speed). Tire pressure on the Canadian cars' screen does not show what pressure each tire is at because sensors aren't present. All you get is either a warning that there is a down tire (you need to get out and check all 4 with a gauge) or a notification that pressures are OK. The Canadian system is called TPM whereas the others are TPMS. The upside of not having sensors is economic and it makes swapping tires easier. pete |

Sensorless Canadians
Pray to Mojo - I'm curious - why are you at all concerned about TPMS sensors when your M235i did not have them to start with?
Please enlighten me. Thanks. pete |
