Just got back from a veichle check :(

So this morning took my car to BMW at chelmsford for a veichle check and air con service.

I knew they were going to say that i need new tyres and the rear brake pads/discs need doing.

The nsf shock ansorber is leaking so i need a new one of those, do both sides have ti be changed or will doing one side be ok?

But to my horror both the rear wheels have cracked.
I have a 08 e90 320d m sport edition so has the 216 style wheels on it.

Now i dont know what to do as they said they can be welded elsewere but all 4 wheels need a refurb and 4 new tyres.

I can get the non run flats i want all in for about £450 + a refurb for about £240.

Does anyone know roughly how much it is to get a wheel welded?

So my dillema now is for the cost of the 2 wheels £444 each plus a refurb on the front and 4 new tyres is just stupid money.

Am i better of buying new wheels and tyres instead of wasting money getting the rears welded and all 4 then need a refurb?

If i was to buy new wheels would probably be m359 reps from ******** or something similiar but how do the 19's sit on an e90 on standard springs?

Bit of help and advice needed from all you knowlegable lot

Reece

From a cost point of view I would go down the new wheel route, there is a guy on here that will weld the old wheels at £50 a crack sorry can't remember his name but you might find posts in the tech section from him, I think he is over your way..

I don't know enough about wheel selection to comment on the 19 set up - sorry

Email Cm with your requirements and am sure they will give you all the info...

Think im gonna get either the 18" or 19" m359 reps from ********, what reasonable priced tyres sit best on a 9j or 9.5j ?

Will probably go for eibach pro springs at the same time whilst im doing the wheels, the wife wont know ive dropped it then haha

Will i get any rubbing issues if i go for the 19's on eibach springs? Will look better as it will fill the arches better with the 19's.

I was actually going to order eagle f1 assym 2's whilst waiting for my car this morning to ditch the run flats, good job i didnt order them before they told me

Im steering well clear of run flats from now on, think even if i get a new car and it has them on i will change them, all 6 people i know with bmw's who are close friends and family have all had cracked wheels from shitty made bmw wheels and run flat tyres

Need some help guys about my wheel/tyre choices also with springs aswel, want her sitting half decent but dont want no rubbing etc as the wife uses it every day and its our family car.

So choices are

M359 reps from cm wheels in sizes

19 x 9.5 et 30
19 x 8.5 et 37

19 x 9.5 et 40
19 x 8.5 et 40
Beleive these give a seeper concave which i would prefer if they fit

Tyres
Going to go for eagle f1 assym 2

265/30/19
235/35/19

275/30/19
245/35/19

Not after any stretch at all and want the rins protected from the wife as much as possible

Thinking to go for eibach pro springs for a sensible drop

I have a leaking shock absorber so need to replace, am i better of gettin stocks or aftermarkets?

All help appreciated
