Damaged front end.

Hello everyone.
So I was driving on the highway yesterday and the car in front of me was changing lanes and ran over a piece of tire. It was a 2 foot long strip. Well needless to say it came up and hit my bumper. Most of the damage is under the bumper in front of the wheel. But it did knock out the tow cover and took out the grill in the middle. The thing I worry the most is the pieces of the plastic were imbedded in the radiator. It's not leaking and has not overheated. So do you think I need to file an insurance claim for this damage. My deductible is 500 dollars. I can live with the scratches on the bumper because most of them are not noticeable. But I know nothing about radiators.

Pretty sure that's your intercooler. It would be a perfect time to upgrade. They range in price from $500-$1k. If you're gonna do a claim I'd get a new bumper too to make it worth it, no?

I hit a Coyote on the left front.
my deductible is also 500.
so, paid 200 for a Bumper repaint.
30 for a used left fog light.

but as I was installing them....
shit realized, the Brake duct tabs broke off also.
that is 50 to 80ish new.
Grill was ok, but the flashing was missing in the center and left on the lower grill.

I should have paid the deductible.
so far I am at 470 in total without the brake duct....I zap strapped it for now.

your rad or intercooler look ok, but it will be worth it if you need painting.
I have a friend that works at a bodyshop, so he gave me a brake on the bumper painting.

usually it's 600 for the front bumper paint job.

Yea. Looks like intercooler. If you report it then it will be on the carfax so make sure it's worth it

Just get a fin straightening tool and you can make it pretty much perfect again
