It never ends!
I took my car in for a partial 60k service and limp mode issues, they ended replacing both vanos solenoids and my high pressure fuel pump, which was a complete surprise. I had a cobb (which I sold since i couldn't deal with the troubleshooting) and saw the vanos outtake code, so figured it was that. So, since November, I have had my plugs replaced, 6 new coils, walnut blasting, low fuel pressure sensor, vanos solenoids and high pressure fuel pump. They also replaced a faulty turn signal under goodwill. This car is so frustrating, I am now deathly afraid of yellow warning lights and the "ding" sound, I may need therapy. I guess the water pump or turbos may be next!

Honestly after doing all that you should be pretty solid for a while.
Every car has issues here and there, especially as they get 5+ years old.

Well, it's a nice day and I go outside to wash my car, so I start it up and I'm sitting there idling, it seem a little rough, and my Service Engine Soon light comes on, AGAIN. WTF, this thing is a piece of shit. Went to Autozone, it's spitting out codes: P0300, P0301, and P0305, which are cylinder 1 misfire, cylinder 5 misfire and multiple cylinder misfires. I just don't see how this thing has continual issues with all that I have had done or replaced. Back to the dealership tomorrow.

So you ranted and immediately went out and got misfires? Lol. That's some bad fucking luck.

I've had nearly all of those things replaced, including my water pump. Turbos are original for now. There were moments when I cursed the car, especially sitting on the side of road when the WP went.
Everytime I give it a good blast through the gears though, all is forgiven and I love the car again! |

Try Fuel Injector Cleaner, I will be doing this soon.
Techron or BG44K. heard good thing from both. I tried BG44k about 40k km ago, now going to give Techron a try this weekend. I say the above, cause, they replaced everything except Injectors, so I am concluding the remaining component, injectors. DN |

So by removing the Jb4 and just ignoring it you are only buying time before it gets worse and start happening on stock car. My advice to you is to figure out what the problem is before it gets bigger and might become more expensive to repair.

N55s are okay as long as they stay stock, once u mod it you'll start going into limp modes like crazy, I have a friend that works at BMW as a tech and he told me to stay away if I was into modding go for the n54.
The n55 uses the same HPFP and injectors as the n54 and the engine itself is more complicated. No tryna hate just letting you know what I heard. Also not the mention, BMWs most unreliable car is the 2013 bmw 335i which uses the n55 |

Agree that N54 is THE BMW engine to mod ATM. Just tuned 7 days ago. Not a single misfire or CEL. smooth sailing.
