Looking to create office chairs from extra e92 seats
I have an extra set of front e92 seats sitting in my living room and I'm looking to make some office chairs. Mechanically I have it all figured out to mount the seats on a typical roller chair base. I'm looking to add full electric functionality of the seats so I can recline, adjust lumbar support etc. Has anybody done this in the past, and is powering these seats doable?
Thanks, Marc

What pins should be powered? I guess I'm also unsure whether the seats needs to talk to the some other computer in the car to function...

or a mini 12V on board battery you charge from time to time. Should be able to power the seats directly to the switches. Not sure have to look at schematic. whats the model its out of ill look at wiring schematic when i get to my shop.
the only functions you are looking for would be the back, and lumbar and side bolsters if equip. the front and back you won't use. Unless you wanna move forward and bust your ass lol. |

Add a battery and buy a charger that you can power via a usb cord. Just plug in the chair on friday when you leave work, fully charged for the week, not that you will be moving it often...I might just make an external power supply and adjust it once and be done with it. I don't adjust my work chair often.

power's gonna be annoying, you either need a 12v battery strapped to the base (maybe a slim motorcycle battery or something?) and occasional recharges, or a power cord to the wall with a 12v inverter (think: computer power supply). I dunno the fuses offhand, but I'm pretty sure you'll be able to find a PS strong enough to handle it.

I don't want to do that because once I sell my car I will swap these back in and sell my much more valuable Fox Red M3 seats!
