E92 M3 Oil Warning

Guys i am confused, i have done bit of goggling and don't have an answer.

The oil warning light came on the car this evening and in the vehicle computer thing it says that i need to fill up 1 litre of oil only.

Is this right ?

Or does it mean there is 1 litre left and i need to top up the whole thing.

Also my car is due a service and i remember seeing a link on this forum which gets you quotes on dealer servicing, if anyone knows what that is could you please post a link.

Any idea of how much i should be paying for a service at 52k miles and what needs to be changed? I'm assuming i will have to do everything as the car was last service at 45k.

Any info much appreciated I'm trying to save as much money as i can on the service wether it means supplying own oil etc.

Thanks

It means add 1litre.

Yes supply own oil but can't combine that with own oil.

Just buy 1 litre from eurocarparts or similar and top it up. These threads keep popping up, are people really so anal?

Mate you own a M3, do some research, it is probably one of the best cars money can buy at its price range. A few hours reading could save you a shed load of money.

Iv read on forums this evening that though this oil still is on sale its the same as 'Castrol EDGE 10W-60 FST' ? and that this is now the new approve M model oil. the TWS motorsport one is more expensive so i dno if thats better or something.

Johnny, a litre of oil will cost you £16 at Halfords, or £6 at Eurocarparts. Whichever you choose, enjoy the car and dont worry about crap like oil and dealer charges for it.
