6 cylinder engine recall
This has to be a repost but I've just stumbled upon this. Not sure if anyone posted this already as I've spent far too much time recently in the m4 section so shoot me if it is a repost.
My car seems to be in he window of build dates but I haven't heard anything. http://www.nytimes.com/2014/04/11/au...ines.html?_r=0 BMW is recalling about 156,000 vehicles equipped with 6-cylinder engines because a defect could cause stalling or engine damage, the automaker said in a news release Thursday. |

If you were the original owner of the car, or registered it as the transferred owner, you'd have received a recall notice by now if you vehicle was affected.
When I talked to my dealer last week, he said that BMW had promised the required part numbers should be in the system by the end of June, so that they could then order them to start to perform the required work. |

There were a few posts on this back in April. My friend's E90 was affected. I do not believe any F30's were affected (or it was a very small number). It has to do with bolts that were used.

Someone in our local CCA chapter posted a link from today that said 3 series build before some time in 2012 were affected. Since my car was built in dec 2011 I figured I would be part of the crowd. Maybe I it though. I bought the car bran new so no reason for them not to send me anything if I am I suppose.
