You should get a notice in the mail from BMW if your car is affected by this.

I haven't experienced anything that would indicate there is a problem with the timing though am reluctant to travel far from the dealership.
I did get a notice and called the dealer and they said it may be 2 months due to part shortage. Not happy |

Hopefully you are one of the lucky ones that it does not ACTUALLY fail on.
