Service cost, grrrrrr

I've always stuck to main dealer servicing for my now 6year old E93 M3, but never particularly happy with the customer 'service' of my local stealers.

I want an oil change and I'll supply the oil (bought from Opie who have a 20% Castrol discount offer on at the moment - enter WORLDCUP at check out)

So how much do my stealers want to change the oil? Another £252.84 !!!

Oil filter £23
Micro Filter £106
Labour £119

After 6years, I'm now really seriously considering going to an independent

Anyone have any tips to negotiate this price down?

Is the Microfilter hard to get to on the M3?
That is M ownership for you. Labour cost x2 ;-)

Thanks for the suggested weblinks, I'll look into those,...

Ok, a further question, why when I asked for a quote for doing the oil change, have they included replacing the microfilter?

It's the micro filters that's the cost.Their over £100 alone..(part only)
Not exactly dear when you remove them from the equation.

Give the micro filters a dust off if they are under a year old and if you have no noticeable odors in the car. Hell you could even DIY them if need be and keep the receipts for your service records.
