Question for Germany members - Munich traffic on Sunday vs Monday in October
I will be doing a Euro Delivery in October (last weekend of Oktoberfest), and was going to rent an M5/M6 through BMW on Demand for a day. My question is, does it make more sense to do this on a Sunday or a Monday based on traffic in the area?
Sunday, October 5th is the last day of Oktoberfest, so will the highways around Munich be especially crowded? Will there be a lot of commuter traffic on Monday? Are there peak times to avoid? I'm hoping to take the BMW on Demand on a day trip to somewhere no more than a couple of hours away, but don't want to waste time sitting in traffic (or not being able to open up the M5/M6!).

I´ve done this last weekend.
Arrival on Sunday and BMW on Demand M6 cabrio reserved for Monday. The A8 to Munich was almost free to drive without speedlimit. But be aware, there are a few new track sections on the freeway, so the speedlimit will be reduced to 120, 100, 80 just for this sections and then they are free to drive without speedlimit again. You can also drive to "Kochl am See" which is also a nice track to drive! You will have a lot of fun |
